(mis)identification series
The (mis)identification series was featured in Art Prize 2016 in Grand Rapids, MI. Art Prize is an international art competition decided by public vote and expert jurors with more than 1,500 works of art in total over 160 venues.
I interviewed the individuals to ask them about a time where they were personally misidentified as someone or something else. This serves as the catalyst for their identify being removed. This is how they feel other people identify them. If this happens enough, you stop being yourself, become who people think of you.
